About Daniel Smith

Daniel Smith has written over 30 books of non-fiction across a broad range of subjects, from Sherlock Holmes and Steve Jobs to political scandals and the Second World War ‘Dig for Victory’ campaign. His books have been translated into 25 languages. HIs last two narrative non-fiction titles, The Pear and the Gangster and Scandal at Dolphin Square, were both nominated for the Crime Writers Association Gold Dagger for Non-Fiction. He is also a scriptwriter for Noiser, producers of award-winning historical documentary podcasts. For over twenty years, Dan was a contributing editor to The Statesman’s Yearbook, a geo-political guide to every country in the world published annually for over 150 years. He lives with his wife, two children and a couple of goldfish in East Herts, having recently moved from the mean (but wonderful) streets of East London.
